Independent Revenue Collection and Support (IRCAS) provide revenue protection support services for train and bus operating companies, particularly in the administration of Penalty Fares and Unpaid Fares.

ITAL is a privately-held company whose services and products provide specialised services in revenue protection for transport operators. ITAL offers an innovative approach to the administrative processes to the railway industry, providing  services to improve and streamline the administration of Penalty Fares schemes operated by some UK Train Operating Companies (TOCs).  Among their innovations, for the first time it was possible for passengers to pay Penalty Fares on-line or via a 24-hour telephone payment line.  This service is provided by the IRCAS division, and currently supports ten train and bus operating companies. Another operating division, IAS, provide a Penalty Fares appeals service independent of the the TOCs, providing the ability for a passenger to submit an appeal online, and a service to deliver refunds immediately in the event of an upheld appeal. ITAL have also developed ancillary services which use the underlying telephony and database technologies of the core services: these new offerings are aimed at making life easier for their customers’ revenue protection staff. ITAL is now an established one with over 50 staff members and substantial contracts with a number of major transport operators. They are still growing their core business, and continue to develop technology-based services with application in and beyond the transport industry.
